Faded Grandeur

I have used that expression for years. I can't remember where it came from but it always summoned images of luxury with a distressed Miss Haversham kind of feel. This is much more opulent than shabby chic and also not so vintage. Funnily enough, I've unintentionally taken the words out of Harlequins mouth when they describe the Leonida range on their website. It has an ombre to the colour so has beautiful tones of the amethyst and green.The Eglomise wallpaper has a distressed look that runs in a stripe and the velvet has a touch of bling without being to much.
